Fenley's Pets

    Cats

Cats are often valued by humans for companionship and for their ability to hunt vermin. There are more than 70 breeds of cat and they live for around 15 years, assuming they don't use up their 9 lives first. All cats are inquisitive and sometimes get themselves into stupid situations from being overly curious. Some cats are loyal and friendly and love being waited on, while others are very independent and slow to trust humans. If you look after a kitten properly it should turn out to be a nice adult but sometimes nothing you do can change a sourpuss and they will always prefer to be solitary and independent. They can see in near darkness, have poorer color vision and a better sense of smell than humans. Overall cats are awesome, entertaining and funny. We would always recommend trying to rehome a cat from the RSPCA or a shelter, rather than encouraging more breeding.

Dogs are a domesticated canine that have been selectively bred over millennia for various behaviours, sensory capabilities, and physical attributes. There are now approximately eight and a half million dogs kept as pets in the UK. Dogs are sociable animals who can be great companions and enjoy an appropriate amount of company. The list of breeds is massive and continues to grow. Every dog deserves a good home, where they can be happy and have a healthy diet to help keep them at their best. The RSPCA rescue and rehome thousands of dogs each year and each one comes with a unique personality. If you're looking to introduce a dog into your family, why not offer a home to a dog that really needs it? We would always recommend trying to rehome a dog from the RSPCA or a shelter rather than encouraging more breeding.

Rabbits were first domesticated in the Middle Ages. There are now many different breeds and varieties of rabbit, varying in size, body shape and personality. Typically, they live for 8-12 years, but some may live for longer. The male is called a buck and the female is a doe; a young rabbit is a kit or bunny. Some rabbits can reach speeds of up to 50 miles per hour. Rabbits are territorial animals and can form complicated social structures. Their teeth grow at a rate of 3mm a week. Rabbits can also be taught to respond to commands using positive reward-based training.
